Overview

The Apple Services Performance Partner Program (f.k.a. Affiliate) allows you to track your podcast marketing activity and gain valuable insights through our near real time reporting. You can now also earn commissions on all qualifying Apple Podcast content, in addition to Apple Music, Apple TV+, Apple Books, Apple News+ and more — all in one program dashboard.

Affiliate Setup

To apply and join the program, you will need to first go through a few easy steps to get started.

1) First submit a simple form through our signup portal. Once you have completed this form, we can expedite approving your application.

2) We will then send you a link via email to sign up for Partnerize, our reporting and payments platform. Important note — you are not fully signed up in the program until you complete this second step and set up your account on Partnerize.

3) After this, you will receive an email with your affiliate token and login details from Partnerize.

4) Now you can begin linking right away once you have your affiliate token (make sure to read our linking guide below). Once you have activity registered on your account, you will be able to begin releasing payments. This does not have to happen right away, but please be sure to add your banking information to the Partnerize platform, so you can be paid rapidly once you are ready.

Reporting Features

By joining as a podcast affiliate, you will have immediate access to near real time data on all your linked podcast activity. By adding a few simple parameters to your podcast links, you will be able to track all of this in your affiliate dashboard and see all trial and membership-related activity, in addition to the clicks that drove your transactions. Monitor your campaigns and segment them by channel, media placement, or any other preference you might have. Our Affiliate Reporting Guide covers all of this and more, including how to use our reporting api’s for easy reporting access and data ingestion from your marketing campaigns.

Commissions & Payments

By linking to Apple Podcasts as an affiliate, you can earn a one-time bounty of 50% on the first paid month of every subscription membership you drive on a 30-day cookie window. For example, if you link to a podcast subscription costing $10 USD, you will earn $5 in equivalent commissions. This payment scales globally based on the local market price and where podcasts are available.

Don’t forget — you can also earn commissions on all other content offered under Apple Services, like Apple Music, Apple TV+ and more listed below. For more details, please visit our Commissions and Payments page.

Linking Guide (Affiliate Tracking)

The easiest way to create deep links to your podcast content is by using our Podcasts Marketing Toolbox.

Generate text links, badge links, QR codes, audio widgets and more through this turnkey tool without the need to manually create deep links. Simply navigate to the content you want and input your affiliate token as well as optional campaign name. After all fields have been properly configured in the toolbox, you can shorten the link within the tool and copy/paste your fully encoded affiliate link into your marketing.

If you prefer to manually create links you can do that as well. Just carefully follow the instructions below and if you have questions, reach out to the affiliate team at Affiliate_Podcasts@group.apple.com. It’s very important you create links correctly or they will not track.

Important Linking Tips

1) Always make sure your links include no more than one ‘?’ anywhere in the URL

2) Always copy and paste your affiliate token to avoid keying errors

3) Always append all parameters including affiliate tokens and third party fields before you put your link through a shortening tool and not after, or else your link will not attribute track properly

Frequently Asked Questions

Are the Partnerize platform terms and conditions of this program negotiable?

To be a part of the Apple Services Program, you must also be a registered affiliate on the Partnerize platform, agreeing to the affiliate terms and conditions. These are basic platform terms which cannot be changed.

Is the program open to working on CPC or CPM?

You can only be paid on a CPA basis as an affiliate partner.

What are the payment terms and how quickly will I be paid?

All payments to partners are made on behalf of Apple by Partnerize. You will be paid roughly 90-120 days after close of month. Apple pays Partnerize, our affiliate platform provider, who then releases funds to affiliates via the payments platform with a simple, rapid bank transfer to the partner.

Can you sign an Insertion Order and pay me direct via an Apple PO?

No, payments to partners are made on behalf of Apple by Partnerize. To be a part of the Apple Services Program, you must also be a registered affiliate agreeing with the Partnerize platform. On the platform, you simply add your banking information for easy payment.

I am nearly ready to launch. Is there anything else we need to do?

Please make sure to always test and validate your links for proper attribution. You are responsible for proper coding and testing of links. Apple will be happy to review your links before you go live.

What do I do if I want to append additional parameters and how will they track with the program?

While third party services for podcasts may be used at your discretion, please note the data input in these fields will not be reported in the affiliate dashboard. This third party data will only report in your external data sets and not via our program. As a best practice, please also make sure any and all of your parameters are appended before you run your encoded link through a shortener for ease of use. It will not track properly otherwise.

I want to see my reporting. How do I do this? Also, is there an API for easy access?

Please refer to our Affiliate Reporting Guide for more information as well as screenshots on how to access your data both in the Partnerize UI or via the Partnerize reporting API. We have documentation on the API. The Apple affiliate team can assist you if you have questions.

Where can I reach out if I have questions on being an affiliate?

If you have any questions at all and would like to speak to someone on the affiliate team, please reach out to us at Affiliate_Podcasts@group.apple.com.
