Our Search API and Enterprise Partner Feeds are the best options to programmatically find links and meta data about any iTunes, App Store, iBooks, and Mac App Store content. Which tool you choose to use will depend on the volume of data you intend to acquire.
The iTunes Search API is limited to approximately 20 calls per minute. For heavier usage requirements, our Enterprise Partner Feed (EPF) is appropriate for affiliates who need to create their own database of our catalog of metadata. As we do not offer support for file management for EPF, we only recommend this option for affiliates who are able to independently manage the file produced by EPF. Further information can be found on the Affiliate Resource website.
For Apple Music content, you can also use the existing search and lookup APIs described here. We have added an object named “isStreamable” which will return a “true” or “false” value that indicates if a track is available in Apple Music.
For App developers, the Apple Music API allows you to directly control Apple Music playback for Members among other features. Learn More about the Apple Music API.
